Garamond's types were, in turn, based on those used by Aldus Manutius in 1495 and cut by Francesco Griffo. The italic is based on types cut in France circa 1557 by Robert Granjon. Garamond is a beautiful typeface with an air of informality which looks good in a wide range of applications. It works particularly well in books and lengthy text. Download and install the Apple Garamond font for free from FFonts.net. ️ This font has been downloaded 30,000+ times. Garamond doesn't show up in my Appleworks menu. Also, the font used by Apple had been altered slightly, making it much more elegant. I do see it where this hint said it would be, but I can't copy it or duplicate it or move it.
